BRATISLAVA – The Easter holidays were marked by a case in Slovakia. The Minister of the Environment Tomáš Taraba (SNS) attacked again via social networks, while the Slovak actress Zuzana Fialová became the target of the attacks. According to him, RTVS should have devoted more space to spiritual topics than to the actress during Easter. Fialová decided to briefly respond to the whole case via the social network.
During the Easter holidays, Slovak society was shaken by another government case regarding RTVS. This time, Environment Minister Taraba did not like that they were presenting during Easter “on the headline of the RTVS website, instead of the story about the biggest holidays, a “spiritual story” about Zuzana Fialová”. He marked it as “arrogance towards our culture.”

RTVS itself responded to his words. “The criticized article was published on the RTVS website on March 27 and was a promo for the popular show Hit of the Year, which was broadcast the next day. RTVS is aware of and honors the importance of the biggest Christian holidays of the year, as evidenced by the extraordinary broadcast structure on both television and radio broadcasts, as well as numerous articles on web portals,” stated Zuzana Vicelová, head of the RTVS communication department.
After his statement, a wave of criticism against the minister rose on the social network, while the Slovak actress was supported by several personalities, among whom was President Zuzana Čaputová. The non-governmental organization Institute of Human Rights (IĽP) filed a criminal complaint against Taraba at the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Slovak Republic.

The actress also acted publicly
The actress thanked President Čaputová for her support on the social network. “Thank you Madam President. Thank you the undersigned ladies and gentlemen. I really appreciate it. In the end, truth and love will always win over lies and hatred,” wrote Fialová in the comment.
Later, however, the actress decided to react publicly on her profile via the social network. She called the whole case stupid and added that she has a crush on her. “So. I’m in that show that seems to have taken up space for spiritual topics and didn’t even work. And thanks to all of you for the giant hugs,” she wrote in the story.
