Love cannot be forced. When Sanne had to choose between suitors Boris and Robin for the last time on Sunday evening, she chose the third option: neither. This also made her suitable for the city trip, which usually follows the end of the Boer zkt Vrouw program.

“It remains difficult for me to open up,” she explained her choice. “I couldn’t handle a city trip like that. I have found myself and have taken steps, but not enough yet.” It may have been a bit of a shock for the viewer, but the decision was not completely unexpected. They also felt the awkwardness on Sanne’s property.

The Limburg dairy farmer has been struggling with her place in the program since the first episode. She has been single for eight years and had not looked at men for a long time after a painful breakup. The fact that there were now three of them walking around on her farm in Bocholt, 24/7, was too much of a good thing.

“Suddenly I got all this attention. I found it difficult to deal with that new situation,” Sanne explains. “Would I have taken the decision too early to participate in Boer zkt Vrouw? I do not think so. It’s strange that so many people ask me that question. If you don’t participate, you can’t possibly know. I really participated with the intention of finding a partner, but it all happened a bit too quickly for me.”

Lock to the heart

Because what is shown on television over several episodes is recorded during one tough week. After she previously sent candidate Jimmy home because he gave her too little breathing space, separate dates with the two remaining candidates were the deciding factor. “It wouldn’t feel good to keep them on the line any longer. I realized it was better to quit. The men were already much further along than me in this process. If I had chosen someone for that trip, I was just giving them false hope.”

Because I knew it was over.” The opposing side was logically less satisfied, especially because there was still hope just before the hour of truth. “She is a dream woman, many boxes are ticked,” said Boris. “This can blossom. I was able to make it clear to her that I am interested in her.”

‘Competitor’ Robin put it much more directly to presenter Dina Tersago. “I’m crazy about her. I would be very upset if she said no. I can’t hide that, I’m an open book. She will notice that. She is a beautiful woman, but she has a strong lock on her heart.”

Although the disappointment was clear, neither man was angry after the news. Robin even called it a smart decision. “I liked that they took it in a sporty way,” says Sanne. “After those last recordings they left for home quite quickly. Or when peace returned for me too? It didn’t happen that quickly. (laughs) I had to recover for a week anyway. Afterwards I sent the gentlemen a separate message, but that was it.”

Confronting

And she is happy that all the images have finally been broadcast. “I honestly admit that it is quite confronting to see those scenes again. I’m still having a hard time with it emotionally. Those broadcasts catapulted me back to that week, to those moments that were difficult for me to place. I think I can only really close it now. And no, there is no one new in my life for the time being.”

In Gierle, the silent farmer Niels (32) also faced his moment of choice. However, his choice had been made for a long time. “My feeling has always gone to Sylvie. I can’t hide that, it became difficult to give Astrid any attention. I think she sensed that too.”

A correct assessment. Astrid found it difficult to get through to Niels, while Sylvie felt there was a connection. “Friendly, but still. And I think he wants to explore that further.”
