His business started more than 10 years ago, and the demand is growing.

The business from Tisău, from Buzău, grew amazingly a few years ago, during the pandemic.

With more time at their disposal, people arranged their gardens more carefully and beautifully, and the custom was preserved.

Each season now comes with new challenges. And for this year’s, the almost black hyacinth is the star, because the Romanian has a flower business.

“The novelty of this season is midnight blue. It’s called black hyacinth, but it’s actually indigo. It had a big impact. Unlike pink hyacinth, it has a much more intense fragrance”, explained Marian Diaconu, on Saturday, on the show Agricoolfrom Antena 3 CNN.

Marian Diaconu and his wife turned their passion for flowers into a daily occupation.

They started with a greenhouse of 600 square meters, right in the yard of their home in Tisău, where they sold around 30,000 plants a year.

The business grew from year to year, and for this spring, they prepared 24,000 plants.

“The offer varies. We have hyacinths, tulips, daffodils, each variety with 4-5 colors and sizes. We tried to diversify as much as possible”, says Marian Diaconu.

Compared to last year, the flowers have a slightly higher price, because maintenance expenses have also increased.

The entrepreneur says that the most important expenses are the heating, but also the labor and the materials used for the flowers.
