According to the ISW report – which also refers to several reporting portals – the Russian Air Force continues to carry out a large number of winged bomb attacks in Ukraine. All this is happening despite the fact that, according to Ukrainian officials, they are forced to endure serious losses in the meantime.

According to the latest Russian tactics, Su-34 fighter-bombers accompanied by Su-35 fighters from a distance of barely 40 kilometers, they attack the Ukrainian positions with the help of cruise bombs. The sources report not only a change in quality, but also in quantity, even a hundred or more deployments may take place in one day.

By the way, the more aggressive attack style appeared during the siege of Avgyijivka in mid-February.

By now, it seems that the Russian command has assessed that the positive effects generated by such air operations outweigh the possible losses associated with such deployments.

By the way, Ukraine reported shooting down about a dozen Su-34s in the past period, although Kiev did not provide evidence of this. At the same time, the Ukrainian armed forces lost several air defense systems near the front, which may indicate that they gave a similarly strong and risky response to the attempt by the Russian Air Force by using their air defense missile systems near the front line.
