There was a showdown related to drug trafficking.
A fatal shooting incident occurred on Friday night in the Seine-Saint-Denis department near Paris: one person was killed and three others were seriously injured, judicial sources said.
The incident happened in a parking lot in Sevran, the gunman fled. The injured were taken to the hospital by the ambulances, but not to the nearest one, because three other people with gunshot wounds had already been taken there shortly before, a police source added.
In the Sevrani criminal case, an investigation has been launched on charges of organized intentional homicide and attempted homicide, as well as membership in a criminal organization, the competent prosecutor’s office announced.
Speaking to the AFP news agency, Stéphane Blanchet, the mayor of Sevran, said that according to his information, a showdown related to drug trafficking had taken place.
Seine-Saint-Denis, which is considered to be the poorest department in France – where the largest number of immigrants live in the country in proportion to its population – has long been notorious for its poor public safety.
