Police teams evaluated a tip-off in Sultangazi and found slaughtered horse meat in a truck and 3 horses waiting to be slaughtered at the address they went to. Police teams started an operation to catch the person or persons who slaughtered the horse.

The incident in Istanbul took place at night in Sultangazi, Habipler District. Sultangazi Municipality police teams received a report saying ‘horses are being slaughtered in the slum garden’. Thereupon, police teams raided the reported address accompanied by the police.
While the police teams found 3 horses during the search at the address, they found that there were pieces of meat belonging to the slaughtered horse in the bed of a parked pickup truck. Police teams did not find anyone during their search in the slum. Police teams launched a large-scale study in the surrounding area to catch the person or persons who escaped after the incident.
Police teams from Sultangazi Municipality took under protection the 3 live horses that escaped at the last minute from being slaughtered. The slaughtered horse meat was taken away for destruction.
