To find staff he has tried everything, and now the owner of a bistro in the center of Aosta has gone so far as to offer a 300 euro voucher for anyone who can introduce him to a person who will then be hired. “Do you have a relative or a friend who isn’t very social? Let us know and send them your CV. If you’re hired, we’ll be happy to thank you for your help, giving you a 300 euro voucher to spend at Saint-Vout or Blooker Store”. This – reports the weekly Gazzetta Matin – is the post that appeared on the social networks of the venue, which is located in front of the Arch of Augustus, the symbolic monument of the city.
“Honestly – he tells the weekly Luca Tentoni, owner of the bistro – I no longer know which way to try to find employees. We have placed adverts, made numerous investments” on specialized sites and social media “but at the moment, despite also having targeted sponsorships, we have only received one response”.
“I know well – he continues – that the situation is like this almost everywhere, as can be seen from the dialogue with colleagues, but now only someone comes to ask for the weekend. We offer full-time and permanent trade contracts, but the doesn’t seem to matter.”
Until some time ago the situation was different. “Everything – explains the owner – started to change from October 2023. We already had a first blow from the change in traffic with the closure of via Garibaldi, then one person went to Switzerland, others decided to change their lives and so we had to reduce the opening hours. Seven days a week, from breakfast, we dropped to five starting from 11. Another world. Since after Covid, we have had growth of 25%, now we find ourselves at -50%, in the space of a year. The world seems to have changed and I struggle to understand what to do.”
