The two appeared as an ordinary couple with two small children and a villa in a small Scanian community.

In questioning with the police, the man describes their relationship:

– We are in love. She is my first kiss and hug and I am that for her. We tell each other everything.

But the family’s finances had been strained for a long time, the man says in questioning. It is basically only the wife who draws in money, and they have problems making it go together with overheads and repayments on the newly renovated house. The man is a craftsman and works sporadically in his parents’ company, but is also forced to borrow large sums from his mother.

At the beginning of 2023, he has started with a side business in the form of manufacturing amphetamines. According to what he states in questioning, he has learned the chemical craft through various online forums and “tried his way”. He himself says that he then sold the amphetamine to networks with branches in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö.

– I dumped it in the forest and gave them coordinates, they never saw me, I never got to see them. Then what they did with it further, I have not the faintest idea.

Last August 4 have the customs inspectors caught up with the man. They follow him as he goes and collects a small truck from his father, loads it with a lot of rubble and heads to a recycling station. From their black car, the detectives can observe and document when the man throws a well-filled plastic bag and empty cans into the station’s containers. When the detectives look in the bag, they find, among other things, a handwritten note with a list of various chemicals, protective equipment and a container with a spoon in it. On the spoon, a white sticky substance is found which, in a quick test, shows amphetamine.

The next day, the man returns to recycling and he is arrested. In the parents’ house, a large amount of canisters with different chemicals and different types of lab equipment are found. Several of the items are found in a shed where, according to customs officials, it stinks of amphetamines.

When customs raided the man’s residence, a number of chemicals and equipment used in the manufacture of amphetamines were found. You also find a leopard-patterned suitcase with just over 22.5 kilos of amphetamine. In an early interrogation, the man readily admits that he dealt with large quantities of narcotics.

– I am guilty, send me to Kumla.

In the first interrogations the man is not content merely to admit. He also tells in detail how what he calls his “activity” looked like. How through forums on the Darkweb he learned step by step how to process amphetamine. How he tested himself. And how has got in touch with a network that wants to buy and distribute his product.

But he denies one thing: having manufactured the amphetamine from scratch. According to what the man admits, he has only purchased amphetamines. He does not want to say where he got it from.

– I don’t want to put myself at risk.

The man also says that he knew he would be exposed and that he realized a couple of days before he was arrested that he had a spy on him. He then began winding down his business. The laboratory equipment and chemicals were going to the tip. He thought of setting fire to the amphetamine in the suitcase.

That the neighbors might react when the guy in the house next door burned amphetamines in the leaf barrel didn’t worry him.

– No, why would it, people grill every day, it’s nothing strange, it’s not like there’s a May bonfire here, he says in questioning.

According to the man, no one close to him knew about the business, neither his wife nor his parents. The prosecutor does not believe that, according to the indictment that has now been filed in Malmö district court.

The man has now been charged with serious drug offences and his wife and father for aiding and abetting the same crime.

– There are suspicions about the petition and that he has had narcotics at home, says chamber prosecutor Lena Körner.

She bases the suspicions that he produced amphetamines on a statement from NFC which says, among other things, that the man had chemicals that are used in the production of amphetamines at home, for example sulfuric acid.

– According to the statement, NFC says that it shows that he has produced and there are various accessories that speak for this.

– We don’t know how much. It is an unknown amount.

Bland Lena Körners as evidence, there are pictures taken from the man’s own phone, among other things of a place that looks like a drug club. The prosecutor believes that the pictures were taken in the man’s property.

– What one can suspect based on pictures is that it may have happened in his own property. They are pictures of a laboratory, says Lena Körner.

In the man’s phone was found a picture of what is suspected to be a space in the man’s residence which, according to the prosecution, constituted the man’s drug factory. – What one can suspect based on pictures is that it may have happened in his own property. The man himself admits that he has stored and tried to purify the amphetamine that was found in his home. However, he denies having produced amphetamines and believes that the activity was a secret from the rest of the world.

– He understands that he will be sentenced for having stored drugs. But it is important for him to point out that the family had nothing to do with this, that it is his own responsibility, says the man’s lawyer Fredric Wikman.

According to the prosecutor, the wife and the man’s father, who is in his 70s, assisted the man in drug manufacturing. However, both deny any crime and claim that they had no knowledge of the activity. The trial in the case begins on Monday.
