Developers from the studio Crystal Dynamics released a reboot of the series in 2013 Tomb Raider, which was later followed by two other parts in the form of Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. The mentioned part from 2013 was first released on PC and the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. A year later, the game received improved version subtitled Definitive Editionwhich was intended for the newly launched consoles at the time PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The definitive edition of the game brought certain graphical improvements, which were never updated to the PC version.
This situation is now changing exactly 10 years after its release. Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition surprisingly and without any notice released on PC via Microsoft Store. However, the improved version is not yet available on Steam, GOG or the Epic Games Store. Even the developers themselves have not yet provided an explanation for the whole rather strange situation.
