Odyssey Sims: A Dynamic Force From MacArthur
Odyssey Sims’ high school career was nothing short of spectacular. She truly dominated the court, leading MacArthur High School to a state championship and earning both Texas Gatorade Player of the Year and Miss Texas Basketball honors as a junior and senior.

These numbers helped propel her to a no.3 ranking in the 2012 ESPNW 100,signaling her potential to the nation.
Her collegiate journey took her first to Duke University, where she quickly made an impact, earning ACC All-Freshman Team honors and being named ACC Tournament MVP in 2013. following a transfer to baylor, Sims continued to shine, becoming a First Team All-Big 12 selection, earning Big 12 Newcomer of the Year, and being named Big 12 Championship most Outstanding Player.
Ultimately, the Minnesota Lynx selected Sims with the no.12 overall pick in the 2017 WNBA draft. Remarkably, she contributed to a championship-winning team in her very first season.
Tiffany Jackson: A Texas Legend at Duncanville and Beyond
Tiffany Jackson’s impact on Texas basketball is undeniable. She led Duncanville high School to a state title in 2003, finishing ranked No.2 in the ESPNW 100 and claiming the title of Texas Gatorade Player of the Year.You could immediately see her potential.At the University of texas, Jackson achieved a rare feat. She became the only Longhorn in programme history to reach 1,000 points,1,000 rebounds,300 steals,and 150 blocks. This versatility and all-around excellence earned her three All-American selections and Big 12 Freshman of the Year honors.
Jackson’s talent translated to the professional level,where the new York liberty drafted her fifth overall in the 2007 WNBA draft. She enjoyed a 10-year WNBA career, leaving a lasting mark on the league.
Sadly, Jackson passed away in 2022 after a brave battle with cancer at the young age of 37. Her legacy,however,continues to inspire.
