A group of tourists disappeared while on holiday. Unfortunately, the authorities found the group of tourists dead.

Collect BBC, Monday (6/5/2024), Mexican authorities have found three bodies in an area in Baja, California. That is the location where two brothers from Australia and an American citizen disappeared.

The FBI said the bodies were found in Santo Tomas City and have not been identified.

They are Jake (30) and Callum Robinson (33) from Perth, and Jack Carter Rhoad (30) from the United States. The friends were on a surfing holiday near the popular tourist town of Ensenada.

They disappeared on April 27th. On Thursday, Mexican police questioned a woman and two men in connection with their disappearance.

Forensic tests will be conducted by a state laboratory to identify the bodies, the Baja California state attorney’s office said.

“I would say it was most likely them,” said Baja California’s chief prosecutor, María Elena Andrade Ramírez.

“They were in a state of decay. That’s why we had to do genetic tests,” he said.

The office also noted that an arrest warrant had been obtained for the crime of enforced disappearance.

There were abandoned tents, a burnt-out white pickup truck, and a phone connected to the missing tourists had been found.

A team of firefighters had been searching for the Robinson brothers and Rhoad in a remote cliff area.

In a statement, the FBI said it “cannot comment on specifics” but “we can assure you that we are assessing every lead.”

“If it is to be believed, we will be pursuing these leads vigorously. We have been in contact with the family of the US citizen, and we are working with our international law enforcement partners to find answers,” the bureau added.
