Trump Alleges Illegal Endorsements, Highlights Health Concerns
Donald Trump leveled accusations Saturday, July 27th, claiming that prominent figures were financially compensated for endorsing Kamala Harris‘s presidential campaign. The former President voiced these concerns via his Truth Social platform, focusing on what he describes as a significant flow of funds within the Democratic Party.
Trump specifically alleged that Beyoncé received approximately $11 million from the Democrats. He contends this payment was ill-advised, citing a perceived negative reception to her performance – claiming she “never sang…not one note” and faced a “booing and angry audience.”
He further asserted that Oprah Winfrey was paid at least $3 million for “expenses” related to her support. Additionally, trump accused Al Sharpton, the activist and TV host, of receiving around $600,000 to back Harris’s 2024 bid, labeling him a “low-rated TV anchor.”
The Legality of Endorsements
Trump strongly emphasized his belief that paying for endorsements is illegal. He questioned the implications if such practices were widespread, stating, ”Can you imagine what would happen if politicians started paying for people to endorse them?”
He continued, “All hell would break out!” Trump alleges that Harris and others who accepted “Endorsement money” violated the law and should face prosecution. He insists these payments were improperly recorded in financial documents.
Trump’s Health Update: Chronic Venous Insufficiency
Alongside the endorsement claims, a recent White House memo revealed Donald Trump’s diagnosis of Chronic venous Insufficiency (CVI). White house physician Sean Barbabella confirmed the diagnosis following a comprehensive examination.Diagnostic tests, including bilateral lower extremity venous Doppler ultrasounds, revealed the condition. CVI is described as a common and generally benign condition, especially in individuals over 70.
According to the National Institutes of Health, CVI occurs when blood flow in the veins is impaired, leading to venous hypertension. This can manifest as lower extremity edema, skin changes, and discomfort.
The announcement follows observations of significant swelling in Trump’s legs and ankles during a recent appearance at the Club World Cup soccer final in New Jersey.Barbabella’s statement aims to contextualize these observations, assuring the public that CVI is a manageable health concern.
