Trump Threatens Legal Action Against Epstein Estate and Michael Wolff over DOJ File Release
Following the release of additional documents from the Department of justice pertaining too the case of the late Jeffrey Epstein, former President Donald Trump has announced his intention to pursue legal action against both the Epstein estate and journalist Michael Wolff. The announcement, made Saturday while speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One,centers on Trump’s claim that newly revealed facts suggests a deliberate conspiracy between Epstein and Wolff aimed at undermining his political career.
Trump alleges that the released DOJ files demonstrate a coordinated effort by Wolff, whom he disparagingly labeled a “third-rate writer,” to collaborate with Epstein in a plot to inflict political damage. “It looked like this guy Wolff… was conspiring with Epstein to do harm to me,” Trump stated, adding that sources had informed him the documents actually “absolve” him, contrary to expectations from his political opponents. He specifically indicated a likely lawsuit against Wolff, with the possibility of also pursuing legal recourse against the Epstein estate.
This threat of litigation arises amidst ongoing scrutiny of Trump’s past relationship with Epstein. Despite repeatedly asserting a limited connection, evidence has surfaced indicating a closer association. Previously released materials, including statements attributed to epstein himself, revealed he considered Trump a close friend for a decade.A celebratory book marking Epstein’s 50th birthday also contained a suggestive letter purportedly from Trump. furthermore, reports have alleged that Trump directed staff from his Mar-a-Lago resort to provide services at Epstein’s residence.
Trump has previously attributed any perceived closeness to Epstein to a professional dispute, claiming Epstein attempted to poach employees from Mar-a-Lago. However, the latest DOJ file release appears to have prompted a more forceful response from the former President, framing the situation as a politically motivated attack. The potential lawsuits represent a new chapter in the ongoing fallout from the Epstein scandal and its implications for prominent figures, including Donald Trump.
