Ubisoft Restructures Growth, Cancels Six Games
Ubisoft is undergoing a notable restructuring of its development operations, resulting in the cancellation of six games. This move, announced on January 21, 2026, is part of a broader strategy to streamline operations adn focus resources on key franchises. the cancelled projects include a remake of the critically acclaimed 2003 title,
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, four unannounced games, and a mobile game.
Strategic Shift Towards ‘Creative Hubs’
The cancellations are directly linked to Ubisoft’s reorganization around five “creative hubs” designed to operate with greater autonomy and efficiency. This new structure aims to improve development processes and allow teams to focus on their respective areas of expertise.
Introducing the Creative Hubs
The first hub, Vantage Studios, will oversee Ubisoft’s three most popular franchises: Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six. This hub will encompass approximately 2,300 of Ubisoft’s 17,000 employees.
