Today, Ukraine commemorated the second anniversary of the liberation of Buča located in the metropolitan area of ​​Kyiv.

Mass graves with the bodies of civilians were discovered in the city after the Russian troops were pushed out of the area. Buča thus became for the world a symbol of Russian atrocities committed in the war against Ukraine.

On the occasion of the second anniversary of the liberation of Buča from the Russian occupiers, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi and other representatives of the Ukrainian leadership visited the city.

Speaking after the ceremonial raising of the Ukrainian flag at the Monument to the Defenders of Buče, Zelenskyy emphasized that the war in Ukraine must not leave anyone in the world indifferent.

“This is a war for the right to the existence of our state and at the same time for the right of every person to live… This is a war (for no one to dare to treat others like a wild animal), Zelenskyy declared according to the status published on social network Facebook.

In his speech, Zelensky expressed his belief that “it is here, in Ukraine, in the protection of our people, our lives, our state, that humanity wins”.

The Ukrainian president added that before unleashing aggression against others, Russia always first “destroyed its own morality and made its ideology out of violence and hatred.” In connection with this, Zelensky pointed out that “such systems (like the Russian one) will not just stop.” However, according to Zelensky, they will be stopped by “strength, unity, determination and finding out what they want to destroy (by their actions).

At the end of his speech, Zelensky thanked “everyone in the world who really helps us” and all defenders of Ukraine.
