The ministry reported that in April 2024, employers reported 88.1 thousand to labor offices. vacancies and places of professional activation, i.e. similarly to the month before, and by 6.8 thousand (8.4%) more than in April 2023.

In March, according to data from the Ministry of Labor, the unemployment rate was 5.3%. Meanwhile, according to Eurostat’s methodology, the unemployment rate this month was 2.9 percent, which gave Poland first place among the European Union countries. The Czech Republic achieved the same result as our country.

For comparison, the EU average was 6% in March, and in the euro zone – 6.5%. Second place in the Eurostat ranking was taken by Slovenia with an unemployment rate of 3.1 percent, and the place on the podium was taken by Germany and Malta with an unemployment rate of 3.2 percent.

At the same time, according to Eurostat, 515,000 people remained unemployed in Poland. people – one thousand less than in February this year. In March 2023 it was 479 thousand. people.
