Union centers demarcate themselves from the May 1st march –

This Tuesday, the 30th, the second phase of the general strike that began last Monday, April 22nd, ends.

The three union centrals reaffirm that workers will not take to the streets on May 1st, dedicated to workers, in protest against the government’s lack of response to the demands presented by the unions.

The confirmation was made by the spokesperson for the trade unions, Teixeira Cândido, and said that possible changes in the strike position will be analyzed.

In turn, the Secretary General of the National Union of Teachers, Admar Jinguma, said that the Government insists on not giving in to the demands of the centrals, a situation that could lead to a third phase of the strike.

The union leader adds that the unions are considering stopping all work if the government insists on violating the laws.

It should be remembered that the trade unions are asking for a minimum wage of 100 thousand kwanzas, salary updates for civil servants, a reduction in labor income tax and the inclusion of workers’ representation in the management of the Social Security Institute.
