The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that the latest strikes targeted Iranian military assets identified as being used to threaten civilian traffic and commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. President Donald Trump, speaking as he departed after attending the World Cup final, confirmed the intensity of the campaign, stating that the U.S. was striking Iran “very hard” again that evening.

In response, Iranian officials reported explosions across several locations in the country. Two U.S. soldiers were killed in an Iranian attack in Jordan on Friday, with a third soldier reported missing as CENTCOM continues to examine remains found at the site. As of Monday morning, the Revolutionary Guard issued a statement via Reuters declaring that not a single drop of oil and gas will pass through the Strait of Hormuz as long as the U.S. continues its strikes, further deepening the economic and military standoff.
