The US administration has added more than a dozen individuals and organizations to its sanctions list for their role in facilitating and financing Iran’s clandestine sale of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

In the statement made by the US Treasury Department, it was pointed out that the Iranian Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics (MODAFL) supports the Revolutionary Guards Army and Russia’s war in Ukraine.

The statement stated that the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has imposed sanctions on more than a dozen individuals and organizations involved in facilitating and financing the clandestine sale of Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles for MODAFL.

PROPERTY RIGHTS WERE BLOCKED

In the statement, which also touched upon the consequences of the sanction action, it was pointed out that all properties and property rights of these organizations in the USA or owned or controlled by US persons were blocked and should be reported to OFAC.

US Treasury Department Undersecretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Brian Nelson, whose statements were included in the statement, said that Iran; He argued that Russia continues to destabilize the region and the world through its support for its war in Ukraine, attacks on Israel, and the distribution of UAVs and other dangerous military hardware to terrorists.

Nelson emphasized that the United States, in coordination with the United Kingdom and Canada, will continue to use all available tools to combat those financing Iran’s destabilizing activities.

SANCTIONS AGAINST 16 ORGANIZATIONS AND 8 PERSONS

In the statement made by the US State Department, it was reported that MODAFL imposed sanctions on 16 organizations, 8 individuals, 5 ships and 1 aircraft on the grounds that they facilitate the illegal trade and sale of UAVs.

The statement noted that simultaneously with this action, the UK and Canada also imposed sanctions targeting various organizations and individuals related to Iran’s UAV supply and other military activities.
