Romania is willing to help Ukraine as long as it is needed, Klaus Iohannis said before the EU summit that starts on Thursday, the Romanian president adding that “we cannot meet in Brussels almost blocked by protests and not talk about them”.

It is clear that the EU wants this significant aid to Ukraine, not only financial aid, but also military aid. This help is unanimously accepted, but it remains to be seen how. We are talking about the budget for the entire financing period.
- I will further emphasize that Romania is willing to continue this aid as long as it is needed. We will have a broader discussion on aid to Ukraine and a principled discussion on developments in the Middle East.
- We will also talk about the farmers’ protests. We cannot meet in Brussels almost blocked by protests and not talk about them.
