Wendy van Dijk (53) cannot be seen in the reboot of the hospital series ‘Medisch Centrum West’. The presenter has turned down a role because her daughter Lizzy has not yet recovered, Talpa told the ANP.

“Wendy was going to play a role in Medical Center West. Due to the recovery of her daughter, Wendy cannot resume her work for the time being and will unfortunately not be able to participate in the recording of this series,” says a spokesperson. “We find that very unfortunate, but we obviously understand that.” When Wendy will resume her work, Talpa does not yet know. “We will remain in close contact about this,” the spokesperson said.
Talpa is currently working on a new series of Medical Center West for SBS6. At the end of last month, Wendy’s name was mentioned as the possible leading actress. Who’s in Medical Center West will be shown is not yet known. The series was previously shown at TROS from 1988 to 1994.
In January, Wendy announced that she would temporarily resign from her TV work for the health of her daughter Lizzy. The 14-year-old girl, daughter of the presenter and Erland Galjaard, has a rare blood disease that prevents her from producing new blood cells. Recordings for the program were previously planned Who of the Three postponed.
