“To Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and to the people what belongs to the people”, wrote the comedian and digital influencer Whindersson Nunes on its social networks this Friday (3) when announcing the sending of donations millionaires for those affected by the climate collapse recorded in Porto Alegre e no Rio Grande do Sul.
On the networks, internet users went crazy with Whindersson’s attitude and took the opportunity to make the necessary comparisons with Bolsonaro supporters who did nothing to mitigate the tragedy.
But contrary to what is being reported on gossip pages, Whindersson did not take all the money from his account. He organized a donation campaign with his millions of followers to support the people of Rio Grande do Sul.
“I helped raise money, together with the people. Congratulations to the people who are on the front line while those who give orders have a warm bed to sleep in,” she wrote.
Whindersson was referring to the mayor of Porto Alegre, Sebastião Melo (MDB), and the governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Eduardo Leite (PSDB), who knew in advance that the tragedy would come and did not take any mitigation and preparation measures. Internet users also compared him with last-minute Bolsonaro supporters such as federal deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG), with whom he recently had a controversy on social media.
“For more Whinderssons and less pacifiers”, wrote one internet user. Another sent the following comment: “Congratulations man, the right thing would be for the government to provide this assistance, but it’s a good thing we have people with humanity and empathy. No one lets go of anyone’s hand for each other.”.
With the money raised, Whindersson sent one of his security guards by helicopter to help rescue people who were stranded and distribute food baskets in the most affected regions. The influencer promises to distribute a thousand basic food baskets per day over the next week.
“One thousand basic food baskets per day from Monday (6), to several cities in RS. My personal security guard is in the state to make the delivery together and avoid diversions. Overland truck, forget it. Then a helicopter will try to drop off these donations at possible aid points.”
