Woman Rescued from Drowning by Police Officers

A woman was rescued by police from the Lez River in Montpellier, France, after falling from a bridge. The incident occurred amidst cold weather conditions, with the river running high and swiftly due to recent storms.

Dramatic Rescue on the Lez River

Police officers quickly located the woman in the cold water and successfully rescued her. She was found to be in shock and suffering from hypothermia. Paramedics from the Sdis 34 fire and rescue service provided immediate medical care upon reaching the riverbank. The rescue was especially challenging due to the riverS strong currents and high water level,but two officers from the central police station entered the water and secured the woman,who is believed to be in her thirties.

Circumstances of the Fall

The woman was transported to Lapeyronie Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. The exact circumstances surrounding her fall remain unclear. Initial reports suggest she may have jumped into the river believing her dog had fallen in. Though, the dog was later found safe and unharmed, having not entered the water.
