As many crowns as heartbeats
The first thing the young people did was organize a charity evening. The goal was to collect as many crowns as a heart beats during the time that the charity evening was going on. It would be SEK 4,000. When the evening was over, they had received more than three times as much, a total of SEK 13,880. A fantastic result after an appreciated evening with both music by mello-famous Maja Gullstrand, Rolf Pettersson who told how he almost died on a dance floor and the researcher Samuel Andersson who told about his work.
– We now give the collected money to the Heart-Lung Foundation, which then gets to decide how it can best benefit all of us in Sweden, Clara, Viktor and Alva say.
– This was a fantastically nice initiative, and we are so happy that they want to support the research. Many people think that only government funds fund this kind of research, but it is possible thanks to all the amazing people who give us gifts. Everyone can participate, and no contribution is too small, says the Heart-Lung Foundation’s communications manager, Jenny Kölfors, who was on site in Helsingborg.
