Real Madrid achieved another memorable turn in their history and qualified for the Champions League final. The “Whites” defeated Bayern Munich 2:1 in the second leg of the semi-finals at the Santiago Bernabeu, after being 0:1 down until the 88th minute. Thus, after 2:2 in the first meeting, Carlo Ancelotti’s graduates will argue for the trophy with Borussia Dortmund at “Wembley”, which could be the 15th in the showcase of the “white ballet”.

Alphonso Davies gave the Bavarians the lead in the 68th minute with a superb goal. Shortly after, an own goal by the Canadian was disallowed for a foul on Nacho in attack. In the 88th minute, reserve Joselu took advantage of a mistake by Manuel Neuer to equalize, and two minutes later, again on loan from Espanyol, the forward sent the ball into the goal. The hit was initially canceled due to an ambush. However, VAR showed that there is no such thing and the reversal was a fact.

Deep into stoppage time, a highly controversial situation ensued after Matthijs de Ligt scored a goal, but just before that Nusair Mazraoui was adjudged to be offside. However, the repetitions did not convince that there is one.

Carlo Ancelotti made one change to his squad compared to the first match. Daniel Carvajal returned from suspension to replace Lucas Vazquez. Thomas Tuchel preferred the teenager Aleksandar Pavlovic to the expense of Leon Goretzka. Matthias de Ligt and Serge Gnabry were fully recovered. The two took the places of Kim Min-Jae and Thomas Müller, who were starters at the Allianz Arena.

The match started with a corner kick for the “whites” in the opening seconds. After Toni Kroos’ cross, however, there was no danger in front of Manuel Neuer. In the 2nd minute, Konarda Laimer attempted a lead pass to Leroy Sane. The German controlled the ball on his chest before being caught with both hands by Ferland Mendy outside the box, but surprisingly head referee Szymon Marciniak did not call a foul.

In the 6th minute, Daniel Carvajal received from the right and launched a sharp pass on the ground in the penalty area, but Rodrigo missed the ball by inches. Shortly after, Bayern launched a multi-pronged attack, with Joshua Kimmich passing to Jamal Musiala in front of the penalty area. The attacking midfielder found Serge Gnabry on the right, who immediately looked for the far corner, but the ball went wide.

In the continuation of the first part, Jamal Musiala elegantly eliminated two opponents and freed up a lot of space for Konrad Leimer. The Austrian received the ball and tried to bring Harry Kane alone against the goalkeeper, but his pass was too long.

The second half started with a good chance for Bayern. Harry Kane controlled the center of the pitch and passed to Alphonso Davies on the left. In the 71st minute, the Whites thought they had leveled the scores, but the goal was disallowed for an attacking foul on Nacho. The defender pushed away Joshua Kimmich with both hands at a corner kick. The ball then found its way to him and he followed it up with the ball hitting the feet of Alphonso Davies and into the goal. Referee Szymon Marciniak was summoned by VAR, watched a replay of the situation and disallowed the goal.

In the 76th minute, Jamal Musiala tied two opposing players and launched to Harry Kane from the left in the penalty area. The Englishman hit a powerful shot from a small angle but wide of the goal. Six minutes later, substitute Kim Min-Jae rose from a cross from Joshua Kimmich’s corner and fired a shot that hit the crossbar. Immediately afterwards, Marciniak called an attacking foul.

In the 83rd minute, Vinicius got ahead of Joshua Kimmich after Antonio Rüdiger’s cross, but he shot over the bar. Two minutes later, the Bavarians staged a great counter-attack after Thomas Müller, who had come on seconds earlier, fought for the ball in front of his own penalty area. The veteran advanced with the ball but made a poor pass to Alphonso Davis. The Canadian controlled the ball and still found Konrad Leimer, who in turn tried to bring Aleksandar Pavlovic alone against the goalkeeper, but Luka Modric got ahead of the youngster and prevented a danger for Andrii Lunin.

The Whites pressed after the goal and two minutes later the ball was back in Bayern’s goal. The visitors’ defense failed to clear the ball well, with Bellingham finding Rüdiger on the left in the box. The defender sent a parallel pass to Joselu, who intercepted in the goal. The hit was initially canceled due to an ambush. However, after VAR’s intervention, the goal was counted.

Dabboko in added time when the ball was thrown into the penalty area to Nusair Mazrai, the side judge raised an ambush. The Moroccan headed the ball in and Thomas Müller passed it to Matthias de Ligt, who sent it into the goal.
