Enve, a name synonymous with high-end carbon components, has just released a new iteration of its popular SES AR One-Piece Handlebar. This latest version aims to bring Enve’s renowned aerodynamic design adn comfort to a slightly wider audience, though “affordable” is a relative term in this segment.
A new Approach to Manufacturing
Traditionally, Enve handlebars are proudly manufactured in their Utah facility.however, this new SES AR One-Piece bar is produced overseas, allowing them to significantly reduce teh price point. You might be surprised to learn it now costs $750, a substantial drop from the $1200 price tag of its Utah-made counterpart (now dubbed the SES AR Custom One-Piece).

Don’t think of this as a ”budget” Enve bar. It retains the key features that make the SES AR line so desirable.

A 40cm bar with a 110mm stem weighs in at a claimed 340 grams. while respectable, it’s not the lightest option available if you’re a dedicated weight weenie.
Is It Worth It?
Let’s be realistic: $750 is still a notable investment for a handlebar and stem combination. However, premium integrated carbon handlebars aren’t uncommon at this price. What’s a little surprising is the limited size range, specifically the lack of options narrower than 38cm.
From experience, these shapes are incredibly comfortable and rank among my favorites. Ultimately, whether the performance benefits justify the cost is a personal decision. There are certainly more affordable alternatives available, but few offer the same combination of aerodynamics, ergonomics, and build quality.
