DROGEHAM – Thanks to the “Mienskip & bedriuw yn ferbining” scheme of the province of Fryslân, Mei Elkoar yn Droegeham (MEYD) was able to organize a beautiful day in collaboration with Brickmarkt that was all about games and meeting.
In the morning, guided tours were provided for the villagers in the LEGO store and the museum. Villagers could meet each other in the Doarpskeamer and enjoy coffee/tea and lunch.
And in the afternoon there was time for play in the sports hall and 45 young participants, aged from 3 to 13 years, competed against each other at LEGO Masters and beautiful creations were delivered.
The jury had the difficult task of choosing 3 prize winners from all designs for each category. The following participants went home with a LEGO gift voucher: 1st prize, voucher worth € 25,- Fedde Hoving, Hielke Hoekstra and Jesper Visser. 2nd prize, voucher worth € 20,- Silke Loonstra, Fedde van der Veen and Gerben Hoekstra. 3rd prize, voucher worth € 15,- Janneke Pool, Danique Coenraadts and Klaasjan Pool.
After the competition, all participants received a ‘LEGO goodie bag’ with LEGO candy, gold trophy cup, booklet, a miniature building and LEGO builder diploma in their name.
MEYD and Brickmarkt look back on a wonderful day for young and old. It has become a day that is certainly worth repeating.
