The head of the Psychiatry department of the Argeș County Hospital was detained in a huge corruption scandal.
She is suspected of taking nearly 150 bribes from patients who needed psychiatric evaluations for their pension files in just a few months.
The news was given even by the General Anticorruption Directorate, whose officers also orchestrated this corruption case. This after they found out that the doctor in question, the head of the psychiatry department at the Emergency County Hospital in Argeș, was used to receiving bribes from patients, but also from their relatives.
We are talking about people who needed the psychiatric values of the doctor in question, either for disability files or for retirement files. So they went to investigations and even searches.
Yesterday there were several searches, both at her office, so here, after the searches, but especially after the hearings, the head of the psychiatric ward was detained on the charge of taking bribes in a continuous form.
Everything, DGA officers say, would have taken place in just a few months, between May and August last year, when the woman in question would have usually received between 50 lei and 600 lei, and now he is accused of almost 150 of bribery, which is why the prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Argeș Court, which is coordinating this investigation, made the decision to detain her for 24 hours, so that today she will appear before a judge of rights and liberties with a proposal for preventive arrest.
Moreover, say the same sources from the General Anticorruption Directorate, two other suspects are targeted in this investigation. It is about an assistant and a registrar, who are suspected to have been involved in these corruption affairs, but in their case, the investigators made the decision to place them under judicial control.
