Iran Imposes Sanctions on US General-British Defense Minister for Supporting Israel

Authority Iran announced the imposition of sanctions against several individuals and entities United States of America (USA) and English because of the support they provide to Israel in the war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. There are US military generals and the British Defense Minister among the officials sanctioned.

As reported AFPThursday (2/5/2024), Tehran, which is Tel Aviv’s arch enemy, revealed its actions in a statement released by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday (2/5) local time.

It was stated that the sanctions targeted seven US officials, including General Bryan P Fenton who served as commander of the US special operations command and Vice Admiral Brad Cooper who was the former commander of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet.

A number of British officials and entities have also been targeted by Iran sanctions, including Defense Secretary Grant Shapps, commander of the British military’s strategic command James Hockenhull, and the Royal Navy in the Red Sea.

Penalties were also announced against US companies such as Lockheed Martin and Chevron, as well as British companies such as Elbit Systems, Parker Meggitt and Rafael UK.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry said that the sanctions imposed on the US and UK include “blocking of accounts and transactions in the Iranian financial and banking system, blocking of assets within the jurisdiction of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as a ban on issuing visas and entering Iranian territory.”
