Italy Recalls Ambassador to Switzerland Following Release of Bar Owner in Deadly Fire

French couple Jacques and Jessica Moretti are currently under criminal investigation,facing charges including manslaughter by negligence,bodily harm by negligence,and arson by negligence. While Jacques Moretti was initially held in custody since January 9th, Jessica Moretti remains at liberty under certain restrictions.
Prime Minister Meloni’s statement emphasized the “extreme gravity of the crime” attributed to Moretti, highlighting concerns regarding potential flight risk and the possibility of evidence tampering. She further stated that the decision to grant bail represents “a grave affront and a fresh wound inflicted on the families of the victims… and on those who are still hospitalised.”
