A Brazilian stalker of Harry Styles has been sentenced to fourteen weeks in prison. The woman, who traveled to the United Kingdom for the occasion, sent him around 8,000 postcards in less than a month.
Brazilian Myra Carvalho (35) has to go to prison. She sent pop star Harry Styles no fewer than 8,000 postcards in less than a month. She ordered a large number of the tickets online. Carvalho also sent a series of handwritten letters to Styles’ home, two of which she personally delivered.
The criminal court in Harrow sentenced Carvalho to fourteen weeks in prison and a ten-year restraining order. She is not allowed to contact the 30-year-old singer directly or indirectly. Attending events where Styles is performing is also prohibited. Finally, she is no longer allowed to enter parts of London.
Several postcards were wedding-themed, British media reported. Prosecutors said Carvalho delivered some of the letters and cards to Styles’ home herself, and that she had been staying at a West London hostel since December. Her family did not know she had traveled to the United Kingdom.
Bedroom door locked
The woman pleaded guilty, admitting that she had stalked Styles, possibly causing anxiety and stress to the pop star. The woman must pay compensation to the victim of 134 pounds (156 euros).
Styles has previously been the target of stalking. In 2019, a homeless man who had camped outside the pop star’s home for months was found guilty. The singer then felt so stressed that he closed his bedroom door at night and hired a night watchman.
