ITTF Charts Course for Next Four Years with Continued Leadership & Strategic Focus
The International table Tennis Federation (ITTF) has swiftly moved too solidify its leadership and strategic direction following its Annual General Meeting. Immediately after the AGM’s conclusion on November 17, 2025, the newly elected Executive Board convened its inaugural meeting, signaling a commitment to immediate action and a unified vision for the future of the sport.
President Petra Sörling presided over the meeting, which included all eight newly elected Executive Vice Presidents. This gathering underscored a powerful message of unity, shared obligation, and a determined approach to the challenges and opportunities ahead.

guoliang Re-Appointed as Deputy President, Ensuring Continuity
A key decision from the meeting was the re-appointment of Liu Guoliang as ITTF Deputy President. Sörling highlighted Guoliang’s invaluable experience, deep understanding of table tennis, and unwavering dedication to the ITTF as crucial assets for the institution.
“We’ve developed a strong and complementary partnership over the past few years,” Sörling explained. “Together, we’re excited to lead this diverse and talented team, bringing a wealth of strengths to the table.”
guoliang initially served as ITTF Executive Vice President in 2021 and was appointed Deputy President in 2022. His re-election as Executive Vice President on November 16, 2025, paved the way for his continued role as Deputy President.
Upon his re-appointment, Guoliang expressed his gratitude and outlined his vision for the future.”It’s a great honor to be appointed by President Sörling as ITTF Deputy President,” he saeid. “This reflects the ITTF’s confidence in my work over the last four years.”
He further emphasized the significance of the approaching ITTF centenary. “next year marks a pivotal moment for global table tennis, ushering in a new era filled with both opportunities and challenges,” Guoliang noted. “I will continue to work tirelessly with President Sörling and the Executive Board to elevate table tennis on the world sports stage.”
