The Spanish Society of Internal Medicine (SEMI) has promoted in Spain the first Internal Medicine Day, which will be celebrated every February 8, in this edition with the motto ‘Always at the forefront’. According to the SEMI, this date has been chosen as a commemoration of the anniversary on which this scientific society was founded in 1952. Actions have been launched aimed at the specialty services of the hospitals of the National Health System (SNS), to professionals and the rest of the population.
Materials for Internal Medicine Day
Among the materials that have been prepared to share the celebration of this Day, there is a commemorative logo, a poster aimed at hospital services and a creative kit for networks and the web. Precisely, a network campaign has been launched to encourage Spanish Internal Medicine specialists to show their pride in being internists and to share photographs with their teams with the label #InternistPride.
Furthermore, with the label #InternalMedicineDay2024 We want to involve the rest of the health professionals, citizens and organizations in the conversation. During 2022, the number of hospital discharges managed by the specialty has been 1,265,239 of the total of 4,771,265 in the entire SNS, according to the latest available data.
