SK Hands Seoul City hall First Defeat in Women’s Handball League
SK defeated Seoul City Hall 34-29 in a hard-fought match, handing the defending champions their first loss of the season. The victory marks SK’s fourth consecutive win, solidifying their position at the top of the league standings.
First Half Battle
The first half was a closely contested affair, with both teams tied at 14-14. Though, SK capitalized on late errors from Seoul City Hall, closing the half with a 19-15 lead. This momentum proved crucial in the game’s outcome.
Second Half drama and SK’s Resilience
Seoul City Hall mounted a strong comeback in the second half, narrowing the gap to a single goal at 25-24, fueled by goalkeeper Jeong Jin-hee‘s saves and goals from Ahn Hye-in and Jo Soo-yeon. However, a key injury to Seoul City Hall’s star attacker, Woo Bit-na, shifted the momentum back to SK.
SK responded with consecutive goals from Song Ji-eun and Kang Kyung-min, and further secured their lead with crucial saves from goalkeeper Park Jo-eun. They ultimately secured a 34-29 victory.
Kang Eun-hye Named MVP
Kang Eun-hye was awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP) title for her performance in the match. She expressed her team’s ambition to win all their first-round games, stating, “I am working towards the goal of winning all the games in the first round, and I am very happy to have won 4 times in a row. There were some difficulties in the middle while working with the new players,but the hard work and preparation with my teammates led to victory. I will finish the remaining games well.”
