Apple continues to lose designers who worked with Jony Ive, the design guru who revolutionized the company alongside Steve Jobs with a string of hit products including the iPod, iMac, iPhone and Watch.

Will Apple be able to fill all the shoes?

This time it is Bart Andre who is leaving the company after nothing less than 32 years. This makes Andre the person at Apple who has held the title of “Senior Industrial Designer” the longest – he was even there many years before Jobs returned as boss in 1997. More recently, Andre helped lead the design team after Evans Hankey as in his time took over for Jony Ive (who took his hat and left in the summer of 2019) also left Apple last December.

In recent months, we have written a number of cases about people who have left the Cupertino company. It is not unusual for employees to disappear, but in addition to Hankey, many important ones start to appear in a short time:

It is some again from the Ive era

Bloomberg also mentions that designers Colin Burns and Shota Aoyagi have left the company, and it will get worse in software design as well: “Several long-time designers in Apple’s software design team have also signaled that they plan to leave Apple in the near future,” the newspaper reveals. Ive’s team consisted of around 24 people for over ten years.

In addition, Jony Ive brought four designers from Apple to his company LoveFrom in the summer of 2021. Apple ceased cooperation with LoveFrom in August 2022. There are some left, such as Richard Howarth “Vice President of Design”, Molly Anderson and Duncan Kerr.
