The blue operator continues, progressively, adding High Definition versions to different channels that complete its television offer. From now on, we can enjoy more news. We tell you in detail.
DTT completed the transition from SD resolution to High Definition on February 14. A movement known as the DTT blackout which, in essence, meant that all channels that did not broadcast in HD disappeared from the grid. Today, operators continue working so that those consumers who access TV through their content platforms can also enjoy better image and sound quality.
In the case of Movistar Plus+, the blue operator is progressively adding new HD channels to its schedule. Recently, as reported by the Xataka Smart Home media, three new channels have been incorporated in HD: DMAX, DKISS and TEN. In all three cases we find a notable curiosity: they can only be seen through the app, but not through the decoder. Although, yes, it is expected that its incorporation will be a matter of time once the tests offer a satisfactory result.
More channels, although with surprises
As we have already mentioned, at the time of writing these lines all Movistar Plus+ users can access the three previously mentioned channels through the application. In fact, everything seemed to indicate that we were going to be able to enjoy a fourth: THIRTEEN. Since it was in testing for a while. However, it suddenly disappeared and we have not heard any information about it since. Probably, because some problem has been detected in the emission that they must be correcting before continuing with the tests or with the final landing.
Movistar has not released any communication about the time we will have to wait until the previously mentioned channels can also be seen through the decoder. However, it should not take long to verify that everything is correct and that the broadcast can be carried out without problems that could harm the user experience.
High Definition Options
It is worth remembering that Movistar Plus+ has a wide portfolio of High Definition channels in its television offering. These channels can be accessed both through the application and through the website. However, there are some differences to take into account in terms of resolution when accessing this content. While through the web the quality of the image that is broadcast reaches, at most, 720p, the same does not happen in the case of the application, where we do not find this self-limitation.
In fact, if we choose to access the Movistar Plus+ television offer using the application, we will be able to access 1080 maximum resolution in High Definition. A change to take into account in the event that we have both ways at our disposal to be able to enjoy our favorite content issued by the blue operator.
