This weekend, a large area in Malmö will become the Eurovision Village ahead of the upcoming Eurovision song contest next week.
During Thursday evening, a security guard noticed a loose snake in Folkets park inside the area. In Folkets park is the Malmö reptile center where several different species of snakes, lizards and frogs live.
During the evening, the police were informed of the find and personnel from the terrarium in Folkets park were called to the scene to search for the snake.
Till TV4 News says park manager Therese Herman that they searched their snake cages, but did not see that any reptile was missing.
At 20.30, the search for the snake ended, according to TT. Later, a reptile expert was able to establish that it was not a snake, but a “legless lizard”.
– Now a reptile expert has looked at the picture and it is a harmless legless lizard, says park manager Therese Herman.
