A failure in the WhatsApp messaging application – in the version mobile e desktop – this Wednesday affected users all over the world.
At 8pm in Lisbon, PÚBLICO confirmed that some users already had the application working and at around 11:43pm the complaints on the site Downdetector, in Portugal, was around 5 pm. A few hours earlier, at 7:30 pm, it exceeded 4,700.
The problems on Whatsapp were not exclusive to Portugal. According to , in the United Kingdom there were more than 67 thousand complaints. In Brazil, the number rose to 95 thousand.

Messenger and Instagram (both from Mark Zuckerberg’s company Meta) also had failures throughout the day. According to Downdetector, more than three thousand people in the US have reported problems on Instagram. In Portugal, some users of the social network reported difficulties in publishing posts and schedule publications.
In a message published on At 11:20 pm, they published a new message reporting the returns to normality of the service.
