Athletes will have to complete six speed stages (90.50 km) in the LRC competition. The competition with the opening ceremony will start on February 9, at 18:00, while the start of the first stage is scheduled for February 10 at 9:11 a.m.

Egon Kaur (Hyundai i20 Proto), who recently won the Lithuanian Aukštaitija rally with the same car, will take the first starting number on the track. The second starting number for Emil Blum/Didzis Eglītis (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX), who have had a great start to this new rally season. The third starting number for Pole Jaroslav Koltun, who is preparing for the Swedish WRC rally with this rally.

Fourth and fifth starting numbers for Kalvi Blum/Raimond Zeiļuk (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI) and Jānis Vorobyov/Guntar Zicān (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII). At the start we will see two SRT PROTO cars, with which Elviss Hermanis/Gatis Weilands and Matīss Mežaks/Miķelis Mežaks will start. Kristers Cimdiņš/Renārs Šķenders (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X) will also be among the participants, whom we unfortunately did not see at the start of the Alūksne rally. The 67-year-old Finnish rally driver Sakari Vierima (Peugeot 208 N5) will go on the track with number 15. After a two-year break, we will see Gunti Lielkaji/Vilni Miķelson (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X) at the start.

The fiercest competition is expected in the LRČ5 and LRČ6 classes, where 14 crews will take part in each class. In the LRČ5 class, pilots such as Emīls Blum, Jānis Vorobyovs, Kalvis Blums, Miks Ķenavs, Edijs Bergmanis, Kristers Cimdiņš, Ramūnas Čapkauskas, etc. will fight for victory.

In the LRČ6 class, the participants will include such pilots as Zigurds Kalniņš, Ralfs Sirmacis, Arnis Alksnis, Rolands Jaunzems, Atis Bruņinieks, etc.

In the historic rally car cup, we will see pilots such as Kristaps Dzīvītis, Alvi Fyodorov, Andri Spilva, Intar Rezakova, etc. at the start.

Last year, after the disqualification of Emil Blum, Tim Korge celebrated the victory in the Sarma rally, who, as we already reported, is forced to miss the winter rally season due to an injury. It should be noted that the last time one of the Latvian crews won the Sarma rally was in 2010, when Ivars Vasaraudzi did it.
