7 year old boy managed to catch a giant catfish. The size of the fish is almost the same as the boy’s body.
So the story is that Jason Riek initially wanted to invite his three children named Jayse, Jaden, and Beckett to take part in the Big Bass Bash tournament at Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri, USA. Unfortunately they didn’t catch any fish at all.
In order not to be sad, the father tried to take his three children fishing in another location. The chosen location was Apache Point Pier in Climax Springs, which is not too far from Lake of the Ozarks.
Jason Riek’s efforts were not in vain. This family’s fortunes changed.
Beckett’s fishing rod suddenly jerked. Because of the hard pull, the roll broke. Jason Riek immediately rushed to help his son.
Beckett and his father tried to pull in their catch as hard as they could. All family members immediately gasped when they saw the fish they had caught.
A giant catfish began to appear on the surface of the water. Jason Riek tried to catch it with his hands.

When weighed, the catfish weighed 70 pounds or around 31 kilograms. Even though it’s big, it apparently hasn’t broken a record in Missouri.

The largest catfish ever caught weighed 130 pounds or around 58 kilograms. The fish was caught in the Missouri River in 2010 by Greg Bernal.
Apart from that, Beckett’s success in catching giant catfish will always be remembered throughout his life.
“It was an extraordinary moment,” said Jason Riek as quoted by Lakeexpo.
“After his incredible catch, like a true fisherman, Beckett said, ‘Don’t get too excited, be serious. Let’s do it again!'” he added.
