‘AT HOME! Discharged from the hospital,” Wendy writes with the images of the balloons with “Welcome home Lizzy” on them in front of the house. Her birthday mother says in the video that Lizzy’s homecoming is ‘the most beautiful gift’.
Wendy, who has temporarily stopped working, gives an update on her daughter’s health. ‘After more than four exciting weeks and a whole process that our Lizzy has gone through and we were allowed to stay with her, we can have more confidence in the future and we are building towards a normal life step by step.’
“That will take a few more months for Lizzy,” Wendy continues, “but at least we are back in our own nice environment.” The presenter is ‘extremely grateful to all experts at the LUMC in Leiden for the recent work’. ‘What a specialty and what good, loving care from everyone there. Unforgettable.’
On February 19, Wendy announced that she would not be able to celebrate Lizzy’s birthday due to her hospitalization. She promised that there will be ‘a blast party’ for her soon.
At the beginning of this year, Wendy announced that her daughter was seriously ill. Lizzy has a rare blood disorder and is therefore extra vulnerable. Because Wendy comes into contact with several people during recordings, she decided to temporarily stop her work. Wendy did emphasize that her daughter’s condition is not cancer-related.
