Streaming services all go through the same cycle:

1. Attract customers with discounts
2. Introduce more expensive subscriptions for X screens or Y quality
3. Increase prices
4. Customers will share accounts and close this in the software
(5. A handful of smart guys will take out cheap subscriptions in Argentinian//Chilean currency, software will become even more closed)
6. Some customers surrender and stay, some leave. Turnover is growing.

And what will be step 7….? The endless hunger for more turnover/profit continues, so something will probably be invented. Streaming services continue to develop more and more of their own content for which they have to pay a lot. Costs are skyrocketing. Amazon already has films within Prime for which you have to pay because they are outside the regular offering. Other services will also do this, ‘premium offer’ for which you have to pay extra.

Instead of everything at once (Prime, Netflix, Hbo Max, Disney, etc) I can imagine that people now only use 1 or 2 services at a time, temporarily pause them and then switch to another. Everything depends on good quality content that is added. You are not likely to purchase 4 services at the same time on your own.

Netflix has already gone a long way in closing things down. Sharing is becoming increasingly difficult and accounts with a subscription in a foreign currency are also banned immediately after 1 day.

There will undoubtedly be a number of streaming services disappearing.
