On March 1, 2024, benefits were indexed. From that date, the minimum pension is PLN 1,781 gross. Poles receive PLN 1,623.28 in cash. “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna” has just shared interesting calculations in the context of pensions. It was calculated how much you need to earn to receive PLN 4,000. PLN from ZUS.

The pension amount depends on several factors.

The Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) determines the amount of the benefit by dividing the accumulated pension capital by the average further life expectancy (indicator published by the Central Statistical Office).

It is worth bearing in mind that the basis for calculating the pension consists of three elements.

This concerns pension insurance contributions, initial capital, as well as indexed funds on the ZUS sub-account for OFE members.

Now it has been calculated how much you need to earn to receive a pension of PLN 4,000. PLN (equivalent to the current minimum wage).

It turns out that… earnings must significantly exceed the minimum wage!
