Jacqueline is overjoyed to have been asked and calls it ‘a great honor’. “My life has revolved around music and songs in one form or another for as long as I can remember. I have always followed the Eurovision Song Contest and gave cheerful commentary, but at home from the couch.” That is why she thinks it is ‘extra special’ to be able to do this together with Cornald from now on. “I’m really looking forward to it!”

Cornald is also happy with his new colleague. “I am very much looking forward to working with Jacqueline. She is very musical, has – I know thanks to the selection committee meetings – an open mind, can analyze well, has been following the Eurovision Song Contest for years, and, also great: for the first time since 1977 there is Finally a woman in the Dutch commentary box again.”

Jan Smit recently announced that he would stop as a commentator for the Eurovision Song Contest. “This gives me the space to do new musical things, such as creating my own radio show,” he said at the time.
