Shakira will release her first album in seven years on March 22. The singer announces the release of on Instagram Women Don’t Cry Anymore with which she again sneers at her ex, former footballer Gerard Piqué.

The album title means ‘Women don’t cry anymore’. It’s a direct reference to her last big single, Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53, in which that sentence can be heard.

Shakira wrote the single after her break with Piqué. The former footballer is said to have cheated. In the single, Shakira wipes the floor with her ex. For example, she sings: “So much time in the gym, but maybe you should also train your brain.”

The former top football player and Shakira met in 2010 and had a relationship until the summer of 2022. The couple had two children together.

The singer does not reveal much about her new album on Instagram. “I wrote it with you, my shewolves. You have always been there for me. I rediscovered myself with this album and turned my weaknesses into my strength.”

Women Don’t Cry Anymore can be heard from March 22.
