Wendy Williams feels “tremendous gratitude” for the kind responses she has received after revealing she suffers from frontotemporal dementia and aphasia. Through the magazine People the American 59-year-old talk show host thanks her fans for their “overwhelming support”.

“I want to say that I am extremely grateful for the love and kind words I have received after sharing my diagnosis of aphasia and frontotemporal dementia (FTD),” Williams said. “Let me just say, wow! Your response has been overwhelming. The messages shared with me have touched me and remind me of the power of unity and the need for compassion.”

Last week, Williams, 59, announced her diagnosis, which was made last year after undergoing a series of medical tests. The diseases cause patients to have difficulty communicating and understanding language. They can also cause someone’s personality to change and make them no longer able to empathize.

The documentary will be released on February 24 Where Is Wendy Williams?. It follows the presenter’s life after she stopped working. Williams last presented her program in 2022 The Wendy Williams Showwhich she has been making since 2008.

Her family also has their say in the documentary. They say they have had little contact with Williams since she was placed under guardianship in 2023. It is not clear who the presenter’s curator is.
