The story of Ana Campa

On Monday night, Ana Campa published her case on social networks.

He recalled that in September 2023 he received a ball in the face, while training with León Femenil, and the doctors diagnosed him with permanent damage to his vision, so the club told him that he should resolve his case in the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS).

“Unfortunately, my club has not given me the expected support, I did not receive immediate attention nor did they care about my loss of sight in the following weeks,” Campa published in X.

“I returned to Mexico, a month ago I started the procedures with the IMSS for my disability, as the club board told me, but no one from the club staff has accompanied me or helped me to know exactly what I have to do, nor have they asked me Even if it’s how I feel or if I need something.”

Already this Tuesday, Club León responded with a statement and clarified that the case is in the hands of the IMSS, because although they argue that the player has been treated by private doctors, it is the federal authority that must rule on the disability.

“Club León will continue to comply with its labor, administrative and medical obligations, until receiving the official opinion from the IMSS,” they stated.

This response generated criticism from fans, as they believe that there is no equality in the treatment of players from the women’s León team with respect to the players of the men’s team.

“Are the first team players also treated at the IMSS? Because she is also a professional player, they should give her the same importance,” María Morales posted on the SoyFiera Facebook page.

“I hope that Club León reconsiders and gives Ana Campa a hand with her treatments,” published Andrés Soteldo.

In X, in response to Club León’s statement, dozens of fans compared the recovery of Andres Guardado with that of Ana Campa.

“Did they send Guardado to the IMSS soon? I don’t think so,” posted José Dimas Luján, referring to the treatment of the men’s León star, who was out for more than a month due to an injury.

“No wonder when a player on the men’s team is injured it takes so long to return, until they give him an appointment at the IMSS…”, ironically posted the user Cuciufo Enríquez.

“Was Guardado’s last injury treated at the IMSS or with private doctors? From believing you to believing the player, a thousand times the latter”: Javier Robles.

“When they talk about the disparity between men’s and women’s soccer, they refer to these kinds of issues, not everything has to do with salary. It surprises me, as the Pachuca group is pioneers in many ways, that they have this kind of reaction and poor communications regarding their players”: @Marcko_danilo.
