Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Robots are one of the technologies being showcased on the 2024 World Mobile Congress stage. Including the sophisticated Ameca robot which has entered its second generation.

Ameca is growing rapidly after a year when it was first introduced in 2023. This time the robot has a more realistic facial expression.

Quoting Tech Radar, Thursday (29/2/2024), the robot has the ability to answer questions from MWC visitors. Ameca’s real time answers come from Generative AI.

Ameca is able to answer serious questions like her age or silly questions like whether she can dance or not.

The advantage lies in facial expressions. Ameca can show a number of expressions that are quite realistic, similar to humans.

Tech Radar noted that Ameca also understands language quite naturally, including showing realistic expressions and answers. Even Tech Radar said that talking to Ameca didn’t feel like discussing with a robot.

Even though it is quite sophisticated, humans don’t need to worry. Ameca’s creator, Engineering Arts, emphasized that the robot was not designed to replace humans.

According to the company, Ameca was created to advance the science of robotics. The plan is to use it to help with jobs such as a receptionist or social care assistant.
