Organizations and projects with socioeconomic impact distinguished in the Sírius awards –

Eight organizations and managers were distinguished on Thursday night, in Luanda, for their contribution to the development of the Angolan market, in the 10th. Edition of the Sirius Awards.

The President of the Republic, João Lourenço and the First Lady of the Republic, Ana Dias Lourenço, attended the gala held at the Hotel Intercontinental Luanda Miramar.

Banco BAI, Sonangol, BNA/LIPAS, Narisrec, Grupo Casais and Grupo Carrinhos, with two awards, are the main companies and organizations distinguished in the awards.

The winners of the 10th edition of the Sírius Awards, an initiative that aims to distinguish good business management practices and projects with an impact on economic and social development, promoted with the technical support of Deloitte, were announced yesterday at the awards ceremony .

In this edition, the jury was responsible for deciding on the attribution of the following prizes:

The awards were awarded in the categories Company of the Year in the Financial Sectors; Non-Financial Sector; Entrepreneurship Award; Social Responsibility Award; Manager of the Year Award; Best Digital/Technological Development Program Award and Best Human Capital Development Program Award.

At the ceremony, the President of the Jury, the First Lady, Ana Dias Lourenço, highlighted that “the mission of the jury was, once again, an enormous challenge due to the quality and impact of this edition’s projects”.

For Ana Dias, “participating in the Sírius Awards means not only recognizing present excellence, but also resilience, the ability to persist and operate fully, contributing to the dynamism of the national economy, the creation of wealth, jobs and socioeconomic well-being. That is why this is a remarkable night in rewarding the country’s organizations and leaders.”

The process of determining the winners was the exclusive responsibility of the SIRIUS Awards Jury, which in addition to the First Lady, Ana Dias Lourenço, also included academic José Octávio Van-Dúnem, managers Noelma Viegas d’Abreu, Francisco Queiroz, Paula Simons , Armando Manuel and Aia-Eza da Silva.

Since they were established, countless entities and personalities have been recognized for the excellence of their performance, this initiative fulfilling its purpose of distinguishing the best performances in the market, as highlighted by the President of Deloitte Angola, José António Barata, said on the occasion that “the mission and our commitment to serve as a continuous incentive for national organizations and their leaders to increasingly aspire to adopt the best management practices, achieve better results, continually qualify their human resources, innovate and strengthen the necessary creativity and resilience to face the future and daily challenges. This moment is crucial for the dynamics and affirmation of the national economy, in a context in which Angola stands out as one of the most relevant and stable countries in Southern Africa.”

Sirius Awards 2023 Criteria:

However, there are several criteria used by the jury to distinguish the companies of the year 2023 in the country.

Quality, rigor, sector coverage, management and audit report, human resources management, social responsibility policy, code of conduct and ethics, as well as financial performance” were the general criteria for awarding the awards.
