Its impressive power of 875 megawatts and storage capacity of 3.3 gigawatt-hours represents a revolutionary shift in the field of green energy. This project significantly impacts the energy sector and points the way towards a more sustainable future with lower greenhouse gas emissions and less dependence on fossil fuels.
The birth of a giant
The complex has an extensive array of solar panels from the First Solar company, which are used to capture sunlight and convert it into green energy. Modern batteries from LG Chem, Samsung and BYD are available for efficient use of energy even in times of reduced sunlight or at night, which store excess energy for later use.

Other technical measures, such as a 158 kilometer long medium voltage power line and a 582 kilometer long direct current power line, are necessary to connect the individual parts of the complex and ensure a stable electricity supply. Complex coordination of all these elements is ensured through 120,720 batteries that create a functional whole of the system.

The Edwards Sanborn project delivers enough energy to power approximately 238,000 homes and reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 320,000 tons per year. This represents an important step in the fight against climate change and building a sustainable future.
